Don't be scared by the shady name of this browser-based download manager. PimpFish makes it a snap to download images and movies with a single click. You also can use it to get MP3s, ZIP files, executables, and embedded videos (Flash, for instance). Helpful filtering options ensure you get only the items you want. For instance, you can select image types, specify minimum and maximum file sizes, and even filter out ads and banners. The program can automatically log onto password-protected Web sites, and the new version even lets you share online packages of download links (though the publisher's forum is full of junk URLs). The well-designed interface conceals several powerful features, including the ability to save whatever Windows Media Player has going. Powerful and snazzy, PimpFish ought to appeal to anyone who downloads images and files in bulk.

"You want this software!!!"
I have used site rippers (like Black Widow) and they are effective but can be a bit overwhelming if you are new to them. PimpFish in a word rocks! It runs as a plugin to IE (can be configured for Firefox also, this is rare). Meaning, your surfing a site and you see a bunch of stuff you would like to download (pics, movies, etc.). Rather than right click until your hand falls off, just click the grab button, tell it what you want and it does the rest! It scans the site and generates a queue of the items you want and then starts d/l them. It puts the files in a folder under the install directory and away you go. It does the work while you go about other things. This is no joke, it is that easy. If you can use WinZip, WinAmp or, heck, if you have been able to get here to read this, YOU CAN USE PIMPFISH!
You can even share the d/l queues online with other users.
Also, if you do your part to get the word out about PimpFish, you could get a free or discounted license! For example, taking the time to post a review like this, hosting the file on your site or emailing a bunch of friends about it. "AMAZING - DOWNLOAD NOW"
This is a very simple tool with some major ability. Useful for grabbing images but I find it useful for grabbing flash! Very easy to navigate, offering complete control over the program. The little tool in windows media player is also useful. NO SPYWARE... This is always a bonus!

I have used this product for a long time. It will grab any type file I've ever tried to get, from movies, to prints, to mpg or midi files. Easy to "learn" and use, and works Very well.
