If you are on Windows Vista, please see this thread instead:
PimpFish toolbar not working on some IE7 / Vista machines.
If you are on another OS, or have already tried the steps in the above article, then the steps outlined here are common for all platforms. It deals with the more benign and obvious steps one should take to enable / show the PimpFish toolbar. These instructions are primarily for Internet Explorer 7 - But they also apply to IE6 to a large extent.
1) If you're unable to see the Toolbar in your Internet Explorer browser window, please check to make sure it was installed properly. If you click on the Windows "Start" menu and then choose "Settings" > "Control Panel" > "Add or Remove Programs," is "PimpFish 2007" listed as an installed program?
If it's not listed, please go to our download page and reinstall the application. If it complains about PimpFish already being installed, then please use the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft, to remove PimpFish. You can get it here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
If the Toolbar is listed in the Add/Remove Programs menu, please try the steps outlined below to make the Toolbar visible:
1. Re-enable the PimpFish Toolbar via Internet Explorer. Click on the "View" tab located in the top left-hand corner of your screen, place your cursor over the category "Toolbars," and click the PimpFish option. Repeat this step several times. Sometimes it doesn't "take" in the first go.
If you do not see the "View" menu item, try hitting "Alt" on your keyboard - This will show the menus in Internet Explorer 7
2. Verify that third-party browser extensions have been enabled. To check this setting, select "Tools" > "Manage Add-Ons" > "Enable or Disable Add-ons"
And then make sure "PimpFish" and "PimpFish Toolbar Opcode Handler" are listed in the list and that they are marked as "enabled"
If they are disabled - Enable them and restart Internet Explorer. Then repeat step 1.
3. Unlock your Internet Explorer toolbars and move them to different positions. The PimpFish Toolbar may have been pushed to the edge of the screen by another toolbar. Click on the "View" tab, select the category "Toolbars" and then un-check the option "Lock the Toolbars." To move each toolbar around, place your cursor on the left edge of the bar and drag it to a new location.
4. Look for two black arrows (the arrows appear like this: >>) on the far right-hand side of your browser's address bar or toolbar area. If you see the arrows, click on them to make the PimpFish Toolbar appear. To move the Toolbar into full view, please see the instructions above in step 3.
5. Uninstall and reinstall thePimpFish Toolbar. To uninstall the Toolbar, click on the Windows "Start" menu in the lower left-hand corner of your screen. Then select "Settings" > "Control Panel" > "Add or Remove Programs." Find "PimpFish" and click the "Uninstall" button.
Finally, reboot your computer and reinstall the Toolbar by visiting our download page.
6. Check for malicious software that may be installed on your computer -- this software is often bundled with other free downloads without your knowledge. Once this software is installed on your computer, it can hide or disable your Toolbar.
If you're interested in learning more about computer applications that embed themselves into your computer without your knowledge (often called "adware" or "spyware"), we suggest reading

You can also download software to detect and remove malicious applications from your computer. We've suggested some well-known applications below. These programs can remove the most common malicious applications, though our users report that you may need to try more than one and having the latest versions is important. Please note that we have no connection with these companies and can't comment on their effectiveness.

Once you clean your system, you may have to re-install PimpFish

I can't get PimpFish toolbar to be visible. I am able to start the application from the START PROGRAMS menu. Tried suggestions with no effect. I noticed that under IE Manage Addons that Pimpfish add-ons (2) are NOT authorized without user permissions... issue with install? I never get prompted to use add-on. ...grant
