arnij Admin	# Posted: 11 Sep 2007 07:16 - Edited by: arnij Reply Hi Everybody! Here is a small guide you should go through if you are having problems downloading from video websites. BEFORE YOU START: Make sure you are using the latest PimpFish 2007 from www.pimpfish.com - Otherwise none of this makes sense. 1) You have to be sure that you are viewing the page where the videos are playing. Our plugins stuff does not work from "overview" or "profile" pages etc. on the websites. We might add this functionality later, however. Here's an example of a page where you should be able to grab a movie from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t43_ilAdwC8 2) When you navigate to a page like this, the thing to keep an eye out for is the green plugins orb on the toolbar - did it turn green from blue? If so, then this means that the plugin system is correctly activated. - If it did not turn green, then simply close the current IE window, and try again. Still no luck? Go to www.pimpfish.com/slapfiles/ and make sure the website you are trying to grab from is listed in the supported sites list on the left hand side (the one with all the stars) If it is listed, then you start up your PimpFish Downloader and click on View->Plugins, highlight the video downloader plugin in the list and click on "Get an update for this plugin". - Just to make sure everything is up-to-date on your machine. - If it doesn't turn green at all in your case. or if you can't spot it on the toolbar at all - let us know and we will take it from there. 3) If everything looks good at this point, then try to grab from the page using "Grab Movies This Page Links To" - It should have the same green orb right next to it, indicating that it is grabbing using plugins. Now PimpFish should report back that it grabbed 1 video and the downloader should take over at that point. If the downloader gives you an error, then I'd recommend trying a few more times before giving up - and then send us an error report with the built in error functionality in the downloader. 4) Finally if everything worked out, then you should have a video file in your download folder. Locate it as you usually would, and then you can use our free FLV player to play the video you just downloaded - Get the FLV player here: http://www.pimpfish.com/download/flv-player/ Video files from most of the sharing sites, and practically all the sites we support with our plugins, use this "Flash Video" format. (.flv) In any case - if you experience any trouble with any of the above steps, then writing us here with details would be much appreciated Good luck! Arni J Zabersoft Support

What website were you downloading from? And what error did the downloader give you? (if it made it that far...) Without info like this - We have no clue where to start helping Thanks!
