this grabber is not working for coppermine gallery. as i wanted to download mass photos from it. for example how to use the spidering feature for this link http://www.lindsayimages.org/thumbnails.php?album= 1013

Hi Edward,

Well in this case you have a bit of a problem as our Spidering feature is limited to only spidering 1 level down in the page structure - furthermore it doesn't do too good a job with links that use javascript to open up in a new window.

We chose to make our spidering feature as simple and globally applicable as possible, instead of cluttering things with a million options - This is pretty much what is killing us on this one.

To give you a technical description of why we are failing on this gallery then it is because you have 3 levels:

1) The page you are viewing which links to pictures (but not the full size pics)

2) The second page which has, as mentioned, not the full size pics but a preview with the remainder small pics in the bottom

3) Finally the javascript popup which shows the full size picture

If you do a grab on level 1 - Spidering will follow all links from there and find pictures just fine - But you are only getting garbage - A filter string doesn't help you much here.

If you do a grab on level 2 - Spidering will not pick up on the javascript image correctly (again as in level 1) and thus it fails.

We cannot, at the moment, make our spidering plugin work with a page like this without making it prohibitively slow. The solution would be to make it a bit more clever with javascript links, and then proble all URL's to see if they are pictures - at the moment we just filter on extensions in the URL (e.g. http://gallery.com/pic.jpg will pass, while http://gallery.com/showpic.php?id=123 will not)

So, tough luck - I'm sorry we couldn't help you out with this one

k. so does that mean it doesnt even work for pics sharing sites like imageshack.us/
