bystander Member	# Posted: 19 Jul 2007 11:43 - Edited by: bystander Reply It is unfortunate that more and more websites feel the need to include spam with their pictures; on those fewer and fewer sites that do not practice such despicable behavior, or otherwise go out of their way to make tools like Pimpfish not work, I like that I can grab cubic butt-tons of pictures with a click or two. Often this is just a handful, like 4-10 at a time, but now and then someone has a nice big list that may have dozens or even hundreds of pics, and such pages often don't have thumbnails. For these pages, downloading linked-to pics (and occasionally, movies) allows me to grab the whole schlemiel at once, then browse through them and see what they are. I like that I don't HAVE TO wait for a movie or picture to completely load before I can grab it. This is especially useful for movies, which can take way too long to load. I like that I can have everything go into a single folder, and since a lot of places use the same filenames over and over for different pictures (eg 1, 2, 13, image01, etc), it is good that these new files get automatically renamed, saving even more time. I like that when, on occasion a file doesn't get downloaded, it stays on the list and attempts will be made again in the future. Sometimes galleries are partially down for a few days. I like how the floatbar neatly bypasses when sites get stupid and disable right-clicking. I like how I get a warning if I'm not going to be able to download a movie, but I wish the checkmark was accessible for re-disabling in a more convenient place than the registry. Lastly, I like how relatively unobtrusive the toolbar is.

I think Pimpfish would be only half as useful if I had to delete every little ad or toolbutton. And I also realize that there are a number of things that work in the background to make things go a lot smoother - without these, the experience would become unpleasant.
