Spidering - Follow links on a page and then grab content!

Spidering is a new way for PimpFish to grab files from websites. Spidering means that PimpFish actually follows links from the page you are on, based on certain criteria, and then grabs media content from the target pages. This is especially useful for image and movie galleries which do not link directly to the media files you are trying to get hold of.

With the spidering feature in PimpFish you can grab any of the media types that the standard Grab Pictures, Grab Pictures This Page Links To, and Grab Movies This Page Links To commands usually handle.

Warning: The spidering feature may be very slow to complete as PimpFish is actually downloading all the pages linked to from a given page. So please be patient - The application is not frozen, and it will finish its work eventually.

Spidering and Filtering

When you want to grab something with the Spidering feature, it is often a good idea to enter a filter string into the dialog which pops up immediately after you have selected a Spidering grab command. This filter restricts what links PimpFish should follow, which speeds up spidering and gives you better results.

For example, you might be on a site which has links to new pages containing images of a specific theme, resolution, or name. You should enter this into the dialog, e.g., "1920" or "sportscar".
